Tragedy struck in Badagry, Lagos, yesterday, when a three-month-
old infant, Abiodun Alabi was burnt to death. The fire incident occurred at Wazobia Junction, Tako 11, when a new mother, who lives in a self contained apartment with her 10year old son and 3 month old daughter, went to a night vigil and left her 10 year old
son to watch the infant.
It’s alleged that before she left the apartment, she lit a candle in the apartment because there was no electricity. Her husband wasn’t home at this time because he travelled a lot as a transporter.
The 10 year old boy left both his younger sister and the candle at home and headed for a neighbour’s apartment to watch television and eventually passed the night with them.
Unfortunately the candle burnt out completely which led to a fire outbreak that consumed the entire apartment which burnt the infant to death before help could come.

8 more Nigerians are reportedly waiting to be executed in Indonesia. This is according to the United Nigerians in Diaspora, a group of Nigerians living outside the country.
The group at a press conference in Lagos yesterday May 5th, gave the names of Nigerians waiting to be executed as Michael Titus Igwe, Kingsley Okonkwo, Uchenna Onyewuru, Eugene Ape, Hunphery Ejike, Obinna Nwajiagu, Benjamin Onuoha and Ikenna Abanukwu.
Chairman of the group, Mr Pascal Okolie while briefing newsmen, said Nigerians should rally round with other world leaders to stop the expected executions.

Enough of the killings. Nigeria should leverage on the strong bilateral relationship it has with Indonesia and negotiate to stop the execution of the eight waiting to be killed. The political tussle between the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the country’s major opposition party, the All Progressive Congress (APC) might have taken a new turn as the APC governors recently elected have made a shocking accusation against President Goodluck Jonathan.Vanguard reports that both old and new governors elected on the platform of the opposition party are accusing the incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan of running the economy to a standstill.
The governors under the umbrella of Progressives Forum on Tuesday in Abuja alleged that President Jonathan left them with empty treasury to work with.
The Chairman of the Forum and Imo State Governor, Chief Rochas Okorocha, who made this known during a visit to the President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, alleged that Buhari would be embraced with extraordinary financial challenges after taking up the mantle of leadership from Jonathan on May 29.
Okorocha, who spoke further during the governors-elect congratulatory visit to the President-elect, expressed optimism that the non-payment of April salaries by the Federal Government was an indication that the economy is already in ruins.

Putting up your personal life on social media
With an array of social media tools at our disposal and with the smart phones in our hands, we can easily share every memorable moment of our lives with both friends and strangers alike. But we should learn to draw the line on which part of our lives we want people we barely know or are acquainted to to see. Especially with personal problems which may appear as frustrated complaints which honestly, nobody cares about.
Whining about how your ex treated you won’t get you any sympathy, and will only make you a butt of joke to the world. Draw the line and live a happy life.
Voice communication better than texting
Who doesn’t know this? There’s a soothing feeling when you opt to talk to your friends, lovers or family. Nothing greater than listening to the soothing voice of someone you care about when you’re sad. It has even been made better as smartphone applications come with voice call services. So, stop the text and dial the number.
Fiddle less with the camera
Almost all of our smartphones come with cameras and they are a huge source of distraction especially to the womenfolk. We miss the joy of events when we spend ample time taking pictures instead of mixing and mingling with the crowd. Ask yourself how many times you’ve left an event only to be told that someone else was there who you didn’t notice or an activity happened that you weren’t aware of. That’s how bad you were detached from the event as a result of your fiddling with your phone.
Stop it and live life the real way.
Making enemies out of friends with videos
We all know smartphones have in them the same power as those of camcorders but how much damage have you done with them? Posting illicit or unsolicited videos of awkward moments of your friends will do nothing more than sour your relationship with them. An unsolicited video could end up creating eternal humiliation and dent the image of your friends. Think twice before you roll the camera and ask yourself if you’d enjoy it if the tables were turned.

This has become as common as making a call. It used to be difficult to get your pictures as it goes through several processes but it’s now as easy as taking a cup of water. The Internet has been saturated with viral Unclad images of celebrities and common people alike who in a moment of indiscretion sent their nudes to people they trusted. Things change and so do people so ask yourself if it was worth it if it ever gets leaked.

Need we say more? This has resulted in the hospitalisation and deaths of a lot of people. If it’s that urgent, simply put a call across. Texting on the road is a no no and is one annoying habit we all must drop so that we won’t be an hazard to motorists and other road users.

This should be avoided and stopped at all cost. Making the mistake of handling your phone while you’re drunk could end up in you destroying yourself and the people you love. Your thinking and typing skills are inebriated and you probably would regret putting up a picture of you wasted on Instagram or tweeting a bunch of crappy that could put you in trouble. Reserve the phone till after you are sober.
Showing your anger to the world
It is a well known fact that humans would pretty much say and do crazy stuffs when they’re angry even with the fact that they never meant any harm. For that reason, those outbursts and rage is not for the world to see. Simply drop your phone and calm down.
Lastly, remember not to use your phone in the bathroom, you’d be annoyed enough when you drop your expensive phone in water and it becomes damaged beyond repair.

When I was a lil boy, I used to see people put on reds cloths, caps on val’s day but I didn’t know why they were puting on such on that day not until I was matured enough to know the reason behind it. So, a minor is less concerned about val’s day, all he cares for is to get his parents’ attention, play around and get his stomach filled to the brim.
7. The Typical Hustler:-
The truck pusher, wheel Barrow pusher, the undertakers, the itenerant trader, the pedestrians, the hawkers etc hardly think about Love ‘cos they don’t have the time for such and hence, less bothered about it.
8. The Village ‘papos’ And ‘Mamos‘:-
These are the old people in the village usually the Grandpa and grandma. They can hardly move out ‘cos they are too old and those who can, don’t even remember anything like val’s day let alone celebrating it.
9. The Experienced:-
These categories are the ones who try to advise their younger ones/sibblings to steer-clear from guys this period ‘cos they’ve seen the bad side of val’s day. These ladies are in their late 30’s trying to caution their sibblings who aren’t adult at the moment. They are experienced and as such not so bothered about the season as the youths do.
10. The Ugly ones:-
These sets of people have been forcing themselves on the opposite sex long before the val’s day but as soon as the day approaches, they're all alone. These categories of people are commonly ladies who don’t have any swag, who put on un-attracting skirts that are long to their toes, they have no features on their body to attract a guy, the least goes on and on. As such, they relax in their single apartment all day.

Facebook Now Lets You Choose What Happens To Your Account After You Die
Once Facebook has been notified of a user passing away, the social network will ‘memorialize’ the account and enable access to the legacy contact who can manage the profile.
Once everything is configured, this contact will be able to announce a memorial service (or share a personal message) on the top of the Timeline, respond to new friend requests, update profile and cover photos, and even download an archive of photos, posts and profile information that person shared on Facebook.
Note that personal messages will be off limits and the legacy contact is unable to log in as the deceased.
The legacy contacts feature is currently rolling out in the US to begin with and Facebook will expand the rollout to more countries over time.
If you’d rather not have someone access your profile once you’ve passed away, you can simply have Facebook delete your account altogether.
